Nelson Cosgrove

Nelson Cosgrove is currently the Executive Engineer at Toyota Racing Development USA, a role he has held since September 2024. With a rich career spanning over two decades in the automotive and motorsports industries, Nelson has worked in various high-profile positions. Prior to his current role, he was the Executive Engineering Director at Toyota Racing for three years and held the Principal Innovation Engineer title. He also served as Director of Motorsports at Mazda North American Operations, leading technical and performance advancements.

Nelson’s expertise includes mechanical engineering, vehicle dynamics, and innovation in automotive systems. His early career saw him as a Lead Engineer at Penske Racing and as Chief Technical Officer at Joe Gibbs Racing. He is recognized for his leadership and technical contributions to racing vehicle development, constantly pushing the boundaries of performance and innovation. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from Michigan State University.
