Financial Support for Graduate Students

Research Assistantships

Research Assistantships are provided by the faculty with research funding. The graduate student works with the faculty member to support the project research objectives.

Teaching Assistantships

The department offers teaching assistantships to support selected students for a limited time while they identify their research advisor. Teaching assistantships require the student to aid faculty in organizing and conducting undergraduate laboratory experiments, grading of papers, and occasional classroom instruction. The assistantships are typically for the academic year (August 15th to May 15th).
